Wormwood on All Saint’s

R3OU3sRvfwJiCzWwLbkNj2D7iPMiBGTev9gt2qp5ijtAfter a rave review from Lindy Wiffen of Ceramica Blue I am booking myself a table at Wormwood on All Saint’s Road. An Algerian chef (and founder) with a Mexican wife adds to the flavour of the restaurant Lindy describes as Mediterannean veering to North African. Highlights were the presentation of the food, the manager who loves to mix up delicious in the cocktails and the ceiling. Lindy mentioned houmous with slow cooked lamb, fabulous fish  a “pork” tangine and croquettes with squid ink. Puddings are intriguingly listed by flavours rather than by name, for example fennel and pineapple or clementine and chocolate. The decor is clean but characterful with white walls, lovely plates and gorgeous tiles on the floor at the back. Look up and there is an amazing ceiling with a stencilled Moroccan lattice. An interesting wine list is complemented by the creative cocktails. Try an Apricot Julep made with homemade apricot infused vodka. Lindy’s gang of three had three mains, pudding and a bit too much wine for roughly £40 a head. wormwoodrestaurant
