If you are really into your garden, front, back, balcony or communal, it is time to enter the Brighter Kensington & Chelsea Scheme summer competition. It is fun, it will get you thinking more about your porch (there’s a container garden section for those with just a pot or two) and also the prizes, 50 or so silver trophies, are really shiny. The competition was started ‘to encourage pride in our borough by planting tress, shrubs and flowers.’ All you have to do is pop down to Rassell’s now and again, add some Tomorite to your watering can and bingo, blooms to put a smile on everyone’s face. And whoever owns the front garden at the top corner of Lansdowne Rise, you should definitely enter. We also like The Rug Company’s window boxes, very lush. Enter by a week before judging day, which is Saturday, 7th June for Garden Squares and Saturday 14thJune for smaller gardens, 10th July for shops, pubs and retaurants. [email protected] with your name and address for an entry form. You might find some help here www.rassells Good luck.
