Waste not…

Kensington and Chelsea Council is cutting the “free” collection of our garden waster. I must say I didn’t think it was free I thought our council taxes covered it. Now if you want your garden waste removed – and you don’t want to drive to a distant tip in SW18 – you will have to sign up to a private service run by SUEZ. To access this you have to enrol and pay £96 a year to have one to three bags removed – fortnightly – with an additional charge of £9 per year for an extra bag. Once you have signed up you will be told which day your garden waste will be taken and then you have to leave it outside before 7am. Core what a palaver and I think it is expensive when we already pay council tax, congestion charge, parking permits etc. What next? Pay extra to have streetlights or normal rubbish taken or policemen… To enrol email garden waste@sita.co.uk. sanpsurveys
