Violet and George on St Helens

Named after founder Nicky Mudie’s grandparents, Violet and George is a new interiors shop on St Helens Gardens, right next to the St Helens Delhi. New on the block but set up in 2009 Violet and George is a one-stop interiors shop. You can have the full monty – furniture, rugs, cushions, sofas and they will even do your bathroom or just a pair of curtains. Violet and George’s absolute speciality is fabrics says Nicky who trained in textiles. Nicky and her team are often brought in to finish off or soften architect designed houses which are often a bit cold and curtainless. You pay for their time but they will give you the products at trade price. Nicky loves using young local textile designers, like 009 and stocks cushions by Fine Cell Work. If you walk in you can buy sumptuous cushions from £60 or pretty lamps from £120. Swatches of fabrics hang tempting you to re-cover something. Definitely a name to note in a black book. Amanda
