Three talks at L&R

images-10Lutyens and Rubinstein is hosting three more edifying talks this month. On 21st May author Karl Ove Knausgaard will be in conversation with the psychoanalyst and author Stephen Grosz discussing Kanusgaard’s literary sensation the My Struggle cycle. Six novels make up the cycle and they can be read individually or you can read the lot. A heated debate in the literary world has been fanned by this series about the use of autobiographical elements in fiction – so it should be a lively soiree. On the 28th May join psychoanalyst and critic Adam Philips who will be interviewing poet and author Kathryn Simmonds. Bringing the may talks to an end on the 29th, Joanna Rakoff will be discussing ‘My Salinger Years’. Rakoff at 23 found herself in New York with the job of answering Salinger’s fan mail. While reading the wonderful, candid letters from his readers Rakoff found herself emotionally hooked and ditched the agent’s stock reply and began to write back. All three talks are at 7pm and cost £8.
