The Bush is back

Around 400 People flocked to the official re-opening of the Bush Theatre last night. It is gorgeous. A new glass side corridor which has tables and chairs and doors that can open onto the open air terrace in the summer, looks as if it has always been there. There is now a studio theatre and the main theatre has been slightly reconfigured to allow for another 50 seats. Speaches were made by the council, the artistic director and the architects and there were excerpts from Bush plays of yore and one that has not yet been produced. Wine flowed and the mood was theatrical. All were impressed by this £4.3million facelift. Wow we are unbelievable lucky to have it on our doorstep, I thought as I crossed the threshold. Rajiv Joseph’s award-winning Guards at the Taj directed by Jamie Lloyd is first up in this reconfigured, beautiful space, from 7th April. bushtheatre.
