Supper Club at the Book & Kitchen

Unknown-3On Thursday 27th February join the Peirene (publisher) Supper Club at the Book & Kitchen on All Saint’s Road. Author of the Dead Lake, Hamid Ismailov (pic) will be joining the group and the idea is delicious food, good conversation and great literature. Tickets which obvs’ include the meal are £45 for one and £80 for two. Hamid Ismailov (born 1954, Kyrgyzstan) is an Uzbek journalist and writer who fled Uzbekistan in 1992 for the UK. He then worked for BBC World Service. In Uzbekistan Ismailov’s literature, fiction and poetry, is banned. Peirene describes Ismailov’s book the Dead Lake as: “A haunting Russian tale about the environmental legacy of the Cold War”. Could be good for ya book group.
