Holland Park tube station will be closed for eight months from this Saturday, 2nd January so that the 30 year old lifts can be replaced. There is no fixed date in August for the station to re-open. The rest of the station will be spruced up at the same time. Only solution is either to hike up the hill to Notting Hill Tube or hop on a 94, 148 or 31 bus. In the other direction Shepherd’s Bush Tube is a 13-minute walk or 10-minute bus journey served by London bus routes 31, 94, 148 and 228.
Tfl says lift replacement will take some time because of the restricted working space and the complexity of working underground in cramped lift shafts. The one at Holland Park with a single lift shaft that continues deep underground will take some months. Just like another basement dig. Hope you don’t live next door. holland-park-station
