New Serpentine shows

A bit of ying and yang for the Serpentine Gallery twins this Autumn. At the top of the hill, one of Germany’s leading post-war conceptual artists Reiner Ruthenbeck has a show coming up at  The Serpentine Gallery. As conceptual art is more of an idea, traditional artistic skills like painting and sculpture are not used so Ruthenbeck has used crumpled paper and material to create peaceful geometric forms. In contrast, across the bridge at the Serpentine Sackler gallery there will be the first major UK exhibition of works by Argentinian-born artist Julio Le Park who uses uses dynamic animations to transform space through light. This will be a playful  exhibition which you can get actively involved in. Twister anyone? 25 November – 15 February. serpentinegalleries
