Second Half selling exhibition

DSC_3831Fortuna Weeks will be one of seven local designers and artists showing and selling their art at the Second Half Centre next week. A recent graduate of Central St Martins, Weeks makes textile jewellery from fine Japanese thread with pearls and precious metals (pic, by William Besse). In the summer she was one of five award winners, chosen from 2,000 new jewellers, by International Jewellery London. There will also be photographs by ex-Rolling Stone journalist Cabot Brown, ceramics, paintings and brightly coloured glass blown sculptures. There will also be sculptures inspired by fossils by ex-BBC producer Gigi Salomon. All the exhibitors retrained as artists after they were 50 and the exhibition supports Silver Sunday which celebrates contributions older people make to their community. Friday and Saturday, 3-4 October. The Second Half Centre is in St Charles Hospital Centre, W10. It’s going to be good, you can see more of the art here …  thesecondhalfcentre
