Rising Tide sculpture protest

Twice a day at low tide you can see the four horses of the Apocalypse  rearing their heads as the tide goes out. Entitled Rising Tide they make up a sculpture piece by Jason deCaires Taylor on the bankside of Vauxhall Bridge in view of the houses of Parliament. Rising Tide is a protest against climate change and the four heads of the horses have been made to look like oil well pumps. The middle aged suited figures aloft the horses appear to be totally unaffected by what is going on around them which is particularly symbolic when the water is rising. Not in Notting Hill but worth the tube fare. All part of the Totally Thames Festival on to 30th September. totallythames
