Proposal to split RBKC into three

Only six days left to have your say on boundary changes in RBKC. The options are to either keep Kensington & Chelsea together as one borough and one constituency or to carve this area up into three Parliamentary constituencies. Local resident William Knight has commented: “I comment as a resident of RBKC, with parents and grandparent before me in Chelsea and Kensington [and] where I have lived for almost 50 years. Breaking up the community of an historic and well functioning Borough into separate parliamentary constituencies when in terms of population size there is no necessity seems absolutely unnecessary and illogical. RBKC should be restored as one Parliamentary constituency for good functionality and community benefit.” Janet Lloyd agrees: “I object to the proposal to divide the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea into three different constituencies. The interests of the residents of this Borough, which has run successfully for the past 51 years, are best served by one MP.” Click here to have your say …
