Portobello wall calling for art

Kensington and Chelsea is putting a call out for artists to submit proposals for this year’s Portobello Road Wall Arts Project. The theme for the commission is Moving Image, Film and North Kensington. Proposals must be submitted to the Council by 12pm Friday 10th February. Work will be judged on whether it is striking, impactful and reflects the local area as well as capturing the attention and engaging passers by (us). Portobello Road North, which links Portobello Road and Golborne Market, has an 100-metre long stretch of wall on which artists have displayed work since 2009. The new pieces will be installed in June this year and be up for 12 months. portobelloroadarts
