An evening of pop art, music and drinks is coming up to celebrate Book & Kitchen’s new collaboration with artists Marty Thornton and Jennifer English. East End pop artist Marty Thornton has enjoyed international success, with work showing in Moscow, Hong Kong, Beverly Hills and Seoul and is collected by some of the Who’s Who of glitterati, including Joanna Lumley, Barbara Hulanicki and Madonna. Thornton is collaborating with fellow East End artist Jennifer English. They first exhibited together at the Chelsea Art gallery and then shared a platform at Forman’s Smokehouse Gallery. They now share a studio in east London, working both individually and collectively.
Thornton and English first showcased their collaborative work for AKA art Mayfair. Their work is full of narrative and explosive colour. Their work speaks to Thornton’s pop art audience and English’s street art of the London rave scene culture. At Book & Kitchen, All Saint’s Road, Friday 10th February, 31 All Saints Club, 6 – 9 pm. Members welcome, non-members, rsvp required due to limited spaces. bookandkitchen
