More Poetry at The Print Room

On 15th March, the Ides of … you can join the Print Room team for more inspiring, cutting edge poetry. I Have waxed about this several times but it is always a grand evening with an hour of high class poetry read by the poets ‘what wrote it’ followed by quite a scene in the lush Print Room bar afterwards with wine and book signing. Tickets are a mere £10 and include a glass of wine. Fleur Adcock, Will Burns and Fiona Sampson (in pic) are the headliners for this event.

Fleur Adock received an OBE in 1996, and the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2006 for Poems 1960-2000. She will be reading from a collection called the Land Ballot which deals predominantly with her late Father’s life in New Zealand.

Will Burns is Poet-in-Residence at Caught by the River and Festival No 6. His poems have been published by Structo Magazine, South Bank Poetry, Illustrated Ape and the Independent online, and he has appeared at the Glastonbury, Port Eliot, End of the Road and Green Man festivals. His first pamphlet was published by Faber and Faber in 2014 as part of their New Poets series.

Fiona Sampson has twice been shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot and Forward Prizes. Her work has been translated into more than thirty languages, and awarded a Cholmondeley Award, the Newdigate Prize, and the Zlaten Prsten (Macedonia), among others. A Fellow and Council Member of the Royal Society of Literature, she is Professor of Poetry at the University of Roehampton. the-print-room
