Poetry at the Print Room in June

Poetry at the Print Room has an almost a cult status in Notting Hill. One hour of poems read by the poets (all blue chip bards) followed by drinks with the authors, book signings and lots of vino. Next date for your diary is 7th June at 7.30pm and you have to book. Sarah Howe who won the TS Eliot Prize in Jan 2016 is back. In her exquisite first collection, Loop of Jade, Howe explores her dual heritage, journeying back to Hong Kong in search of her roots. Sri Lankan born Amali Rodrigo’s first collection Lotus Gatherers will be published by Bloodaxe Books this May. At the heart of the collection are her multi-voiced Aftersongs exploring the nature of the male gaze, religious didacticism and artistic inspiration. Rebecca Perry’s collection Beauty/Beauty was also shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize last January 2016 and is a book with tenderness running through its veins, exploring salvation, reparation and the fullness of being alive; the difficulty of defining what love is, the heartbreak, the faraway friends, the overwhelming abundance of things in museums. the-print-room
