Peter Pan Cup swim on Christmas day

Hike through Hyde Park On Christmas Day at 8.45am and  you will see the participants of the Peter Pan Cup Serpentine Christmas Day 100 yard race standing blueish on the side, ready for the off. This year London is predicted to be a toasty 14 degrees C, though I am sure the Serpentine will be suitably icy, often below 4 degrees C. Only regulars who swim with the Serpentine Swimming Club – one of the oldest in the country – are allowed to join in as they need to be acclimatised to the chill. Swimmers have taken part in this race since 1864 so it is a relatively established race. Spectators are welcome. serpentineswimmingclub
