Paper Music at Print Room

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES JANUARY 2014: (SOUTH AFRICA OUT) South African artist, William Kentridge's The Refusal of Time opens at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, United States. Remember the extraordinary production of Ubu and the Truth Commission by William Kentridge – on last year at the Print Room? Well a second piece, Paper Music by Kentridge, opens in the same venue for one week only on 9th October.

Kentridge is famous for his visual art and Paper Music combines film based on Kentridge’s charcoal and ink drawings combines with live musical performances for a fascinating exploration of the relationships between sound and image.

This cine-concert is the latest project in the on-going collaboration between Johannesburg-born Kentridge and his South African compatriot, composer Philip Miller. Vocalists Ann Masina and Joanna Dudley will be joined by pianist Vincenzo Pasquariello and Philip Miller.
