Wow factor at open house weekend

19854This year’s Open House weekend’s theme is Revealing, which is supposed to get us thinking about our environment and issues that could improve it. Like less noise. Less noisy electric drills. More garden squares. Lower houses that let the light in. That kind of thing. Most of us just want a gander at the neighbours and get ideas on how to transform our house into something gorgeous. So here are a few near us: 18 Stafford Terrace, The Sambourne Family home for original Victorian, or go for modern, with rainwater harvesting and two houses on top of one another on Westbourne Park Road or best of all, how about a project on Elgin Crescent (pic) where two flats have been joined by the insertion of a tall atrium flooding the building with light by Andrew Pilkington Architects. Entry is free but you have to book to enter some of them. Click on the link for a list of all the properties. londonopenhouse
