RBKC’s Noise and Nuisance Team has won the John Connell Local Authority Award for its efforts to end noisy weekend working.
Presented by the Noise Abatement Society the award is given to organisations judged to have made outstanding efforts to reduce the impact of noise pollution.
Our borough is the first to ban noisy working on Saturday mornings and is also trying to encourage architects and developers to design-in minimal adverse impact on neighbours from the outset of a project. How about a two year building time limit while we’re about it? Some residents have to put up with neighbouring building projects lasting years. Meanwhile, thank you RBKC for our peaceful weekends.
