Ethical pop-up just opened

Great new pop-up in Portobello Road. Three ethical clothing and jewellery companies are selling their wares at reduced prices to lure you in. There is a really good leisurewear, beachwear, nightwear designer called Eight Hour Studio, with gorgeous hand printed clothing designed by Sonia Padam (in pic with printing block and one of her sleep shirts/beach throws). eighthourstudio The prices in the pop-up are lower than online, and you can try them on. They are all so lovely, a long shirt with trousers in a different print would look good.

untitled-4Neola designs pretty jewellery, really lovely gems and simple. Also shaped kaftans for the sunny summer you know will come along soon. neoladesign There are some bargains too, as there are some low prices on older designs.

There is also Accha which sells cushions and clothes. Well worth a look. This corner spot is proving really popular with young designers. As Andrea Hauer, who owns Neola, says: “It’s a lovely way of showcasing our work. It’s quite difficult to get a platform and and we show our designs to customers and engage with them and we get so much feedback, tips on what colours we should go for and it’s just lovely because normally we sell to retailers and so we are removed from our consumers if we share it it makes it affordable and we help each other sell. It’s like a concept store.” At the corner shop, 199 Portobello Road, until 8th May.
