Neon Blvd, the expert in sexy tech is opening a pop-up shop from Friday 2nd December, right next to Ladbroke Grove tube station. Christmas presents galore, master classes and the most extraordinary art project will be inside.
I love the lamp that is actually a projector, the self watering planter which you can operate from your phone, the unicorn chargers and the Kano coding kit. Neon Blvd was set up by Grace Gould who has worked in the technology industry for long enough to see that it is somewhat dry and can be either expensive or inaccessible. Products on sale are a curated collection chosen because they are affordable, useful and rather lovely.
On the 1st December digital artist Eval Gever #projectlaugh who has been working with Nasa is launching an app which when you laugh into it a piece of art will be generated – in pic. The winning laugh – or art piece, will be projected or sent into space and be the first ever artwork to go astral – astral is the new global. Neon Blvd will have an installation for this project in the store if you fancy a creative giggle.
Other products to look out for are handmade quartz iPhone cases, pop-art iphone cases, heated slippers, LED light up slippers. Check out the Bellabeat Leaf: a beautiful connected bracelet or necklace which tracks activity, stress levels and menstruation. Or the Berlin Boombox: cardboard DIY mobile phone speaker inspired by the old school ghetto blasters.
During the 18 day pop-up Neon Blvd will host strange and wonderful classes which you can book on-line through Event Bright. Take children to learn to play with the electro dough kit or try ‘Cocktails & Code with Kano’. I am going to ‘create a unique phone case or Christmas bauble using the 3D printing doodler pen with textile designer Grace Du Prez’. shopneonboulevard
