Notting Hill photographer Hugo Rittson Thomas has produced a series of stunning photographs of the Queen and other members of the royal family, the judiciary, parliamentarians and royal aides all dressed in their finery. The work coincides with 9th September when the Queen overtakes Victoria as Britain’s longest reigning monarch and has taken Rittson Thomas four years to put together in his Westbourne Studio. Inspired by formal 17th century portrait painting, in which a black background would emphasise the craftsmanship and colour of ceremonial dress.
