McBusted and Libertines to play Hyde Park

Garden artHyde Park’s music festival starts this weekend with a headline act by newly formed and gorgeous looking. sounding and probably sweet smelling McBusted this Sunday. The Backstreet Boys will also be playng their summer sounds and there is still time to get tickets for all the shows, even the Libertines. This year’s stage has been rotated and positioned to minimise sound travelling outside the park and the whole thing ends each night by 10.30pm. During the week you can enter the festival area, designed with a Country Fair feel with pubs and a village green, free and eat at one of the food stands, which look really pretty or have a drink or just take your own picnic and enjoy the atmosphere. Next weekend there’s Neil Young on Saturday and then Tom Jones on Sunday, with Boyzone, Little Mix and 10CC. Such a great line up.  There could be up to 4,000 visitors during the week and 60,000 at weekends. The grass may get trashed but Royal Parks now needs to generate 60% of its own income to make our parks so beautiful and about a third of it comes from hosting events. Not sure how it all affects the squirrels. British Summer Time Hyde Park, 3 – 13 July, weekdays 8 – 4pm and midday – 10.30pm on concert days (times vary so you need to check).bst-hydepark
