Avondale pavilion opens

DSC_5326Avondale Park’s sleek new pavilion has just been officially opened by RBKC’s Mayor, councillor Charles Williams. It has an open air seating area under a roof, a cafe and really smart loos. It is really gorgeous and well worth a visit. The whole park is now just about as perfect as a park could be. At the opening Councillor Tim Ahern said the new building: “Reflects, upside down, the pottery kiln opposite, which is a remnant of the area’s piggeries and potteries.” The building was designed by Barcelona-based award-winning Mangera Yvars Architects.  www.myaa.eu  Ahern says the council is committed to more projects like sports fields in other parks.
