App for local shops and shoppers

Loyal Zoo is a loyalty app for independent shops. A way of putting all those wallet-clogging cards onto your phone. The app has been designed with local independent shops in mind (it has 10,000 signed up so far) the aim is it encourages people to visit the shop, cafe, pub or restaurant where they are signed up and use the loyalty card on their phone for a free coffee, blow dry, book, biscuit or whatever.

Set up in Feb 2013 and launched last October, Loyal Zoo has been supported by a Notting Hill investor introduced by West London business angels Wild Blue Cohort.  “We would like to support independent shops, if someone has their local hairdresser or local restaurant.App is so immediate, and you don’t leave your house without your phone.  “Instead of carrying a lot of loyalty cards which you may then lose, you keep them all on your phone,” says director and co-founder Mark Ryan. “We’d like to get shops in Notting Hill using it so you create a user community in the area and we’d like to support independent shops. If someone has their local hairdresser or local restaurant [on the app] they will go regularly to collect points.”

It will cost businesses, shops, cafés, hairdressers and restaurants around £27 a month, but at the moment you can sign up for a free three month trial. If you are a shop owner, all you do is send your logo and the Loyal Zoo team do the rest. loyalzoo
