Knit and natter

Sew Portobello has organised weekly Knit & Natter sessions in St John’s church, top of hill on Ladbroke Grove. This is great because first, in a study of 3,500 knitters, by the British Journal of Occupational Therapy 81% of respondents with depression said they felt happy after knitting and second, knitting’s been shown to release dopamine, a feel-good neurotransmitter normally associated with pleasurable activities like sex and eating. Knit one purl one will never be the same again and well worth a go on Tuesday 12th May. It costs £5 and you can book at sewportobello
