Award-winning play comes to Notting Hill

Chef Sabrina Mahfouz’s Fringe First award-winning 50 minute monologue, will be staged at the 20th Century Theatre next week. The play won actress Jade Anouka (pic) a Stage Acting Excellence award and is a compelling message about the consequences of violence towards women. Chef tells the story of how one woman went from being a haute-cuisine head-chef to a convicted inmate running a prison kitchen.  It premiered in London at the Soho Theatre last summer and was sold out for three weeks, so best get tickets soon. The Independent’s reviewer says: “Mahfouz’s poetic script fizzes with energy … Anouka gives a mesmerising performance”. It’s on Sunday 31st January, 7pm, 20th Century Theatre, 291 Westbourne Grove. Tickets from eventbrite  This is a special fundraising performance for The Cruel Cut, an anti-FGM campaign in the UK that helps train facilitators to run educational workshops in the affected communities … thecruelcut
