There will be a chance to hear about local policing at a meeting next week where Borough Commander Adrian Roberts will answer any questions you have. It’s ‘a community and police engagement meeting,’ which sounds quite romantic but anyone can go along. The latest local police report says that while burglary rates are going down it is still one of the largest volume crimes on this borough, with around 1750 victims in the last 12 months. “I am delighted to say that in recent weeks we have made a number of significant arrests of prolific burglars (many of which have come from information from the public); but like a disease, for every one that gets put away, there’s another ready to jump in,” says Roberts.
