Afghan art at Leighton House

imgres-9Leighton House Museum has an exhibition called Ferozkoh: Tradition and Continuity in Afghan Art, which runs until Sunday, 23rd February. Part of the exhibition features work by Afghan master craftsmen who were given access to some of the greatest examples of Islamic art in the world at the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, Qatar. In response, they created a series of extraordinary works of their own. Half the works are historic, on loan from the Museum of Islamic Art, and half are contemporary works by the Afghan craftsmen.
