Images of 1950s Notting Hill on display

Roger Mayne’s shots of poverty in 1950s Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill are featured in an exhibition at the Photographers Gallery in Soho. The slums of Southam Street, where he took some of the famous photographs, were demolished a decade later to build the Trellick Tower. May be worth a trip along the Central Line to Oxford Circus, the gallery is just of Oxford Street. thephotographersgallery
