Dawn chorus walk

Set your alarm clocks for The Dawn Chorus Walk in Holland Park. Early spring is an excellent time to experience the world’s oldest wake-up call and you can stroll through Holland Park in the early hours and enjoy this memorable experience as the dawn chorus builds to a crescendo of birdsong. Professional ornithologist Bill Haines will lead a group through the park identifying sounds from the first tentative cheep. The park is home to over 30 species of birds so there will be plenty of songs for enthusiastic twitchers to identify. Here’s the hard bit. The walk starts at 5am, meet at the Holland Park Ecology Centre next to the adventure playground and near Abbotsbury Road car park. The only entrance to Holland Park that is open at 5am is the Abbotsbury Road car park entrance. On Saturday 25 April.  The event organised by the RBKC and sponsored by the Friends of Holland Park is free but booking is essential here … rbkc
