Film celebrates 250 years of Hermitage

Screen Shot 2014-07-18 at 15.19.24Margy Kinmonth has made a film about the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg to celebrate its 250th year.  The Hermitage is one of the world’s biggest museums with over 3 million treasures and more curators than anywhere else looking after more than three million visitors each year. Kinmonth and Foxtrot Films has made the film ‘Hermitage Revealed’ especially for the cinema. It looks at the museum’s history from its beginning as an imperial palace to its current role as state museum and also looks at special collections not usually seen by the public. In fact no international film maker has ever been allowed to go to the parts of the museum Kinmonth has been to. There will be sculptor Anthony Gormley and architect Rem Koolhaas to quide us, along with the Hermitage’s curators. And all in high definition. You will feel like you are actually there without the jetlag. One to look out for. It had great reviews at it’s premiere at the Moscow International Film Festival and will be in cinemas across the UK from 9th September. You can watch a trailer here … hermitagerevealed . Kinmonth has been very busy and there are more films for ready to roll, one about the First World War foxtrotfilms
