The Hermes Experiment

The Hermes Experiment is a contemporary quartet made up of harp, clarinet, soprano and double bass and not only winners of this year’s Nonclassical Battle of the Bands but also UK Young Artists 2014. The group has a Christmas concert coming up where they are premiering a new carol by composer Graham Ross as well as performing their own take on Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols. The concert is going to be a real eye opener and if you like a fresh take on classical music this one is for you.  There are a whole range of You Tube shorts to listen to, a great one with a bird, here is one you might enjoy … TheHermesExperiment They say they ‘ blend old with new, and new with newer’. They will perform new commissions by Graham Ross and Jonathan Woolgar and there will be Hermes-arranged carols and the quartet’s very own take on the classic festive favourite, Britten’s  A Ceremony of Carols.  It will be an amazing evening, and even more amazingly its free and there will be wine and mince pies. A Christmas Experiment, St John’s Church Notting Hill on Tuesday 16th December. thehermesexperiment
