Harpist Juliana Myslov to help music charity

There will be a concert given by the Portobello Orchestra in aid of Awards for Young Musicians (AYM) next week. This charity helps young people aged 7 – 17 from low income families who show real musical talent and commitment to fulfil their potential. The 2014 overall winner of the
BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition and three other sectional finalists have been supported by AYM for several years, whose help has been crucial to their musical development.  AYM has also helped to identify and develop the musical talent of hundreds of other young people who would not otherwise have been able to pursue  musical studies, and in so doing has made a huge difference to their lives. In the December concert, one of the BBC finalists, Juliana Myslov (pic) will perform Reinhold Glière’s rarely heard Harp Concerto with the orchestra, as part of an all-Russian evening of music, including works by Borodin and Prokofiev.
6th December  at 7.30pm, at St Peter’s Church, Kensington Park Road. Tickets £10 each, which includes an interval glass of wine. To book tickets contact [email protected] To learn more about this charity click here … a-y-m.org
