Landscape show at Griffin Gallery

Griffin Gallery’s coming exhibition is The Tragedy of Landscape with the work of six contemporary artists who re-examine the Romantic Landscape from a contemporary perspective. The show is in collaboration with Bristol-based Antlers with work by Ambrosine Allen (pic), Juliette Losq, Reece Jones, Wieland Payer, Anouk Mercier and Geoff Diego Litherland. The exhibiting artists want to challenge our notions of landscape and some of the images are quite gloomy and sinister. Jack Gibbon, Antlers Gallery director says: ‘The bones of this exhibition have been in the back of my head for a while now … I have been delighted to see such a strong reaction to the theme by the artists – and as a result we have some amazingly strong works in the exhibition.’ Griffin Gallery, Evesham Street, 12th February – 13th March weekdays or by appointment. griffingallery
