Parks Police are offering dogs a free microchipping session as a new law requires that all hounds are microchipped from Wednesday 6 April. It’s being organised by the RBKC Parks’ Police with the Dogs Trust on Wednesday 14th January in Fulham’s Westfield Park, SW10. At the same time we can have our dog’s nails trimmed free, get advice on a free dog-neutering service and our dear hairy companions can try out a dog-agility course.
According to Defra lost and stray dogs cost the taxpayer and welfare charities £33 million a year. Hopefully the chipping will make it easier to reunite lost pets with their owners.
Before the new law comes into effect the Parks Police is organising a number of sessions where owners can get their dogs microchipped free of charge. For information on these sessions email [email protected] By the way, if your doggie is unchipped by April you could be fined a whopping £500.
