Chips but no fish for dogs

Parks Police are offering dogs a free microchipping session as a new law requires that all hounds are microchipped from Wednesday 6 April. It’s being organised by the RBKC Parks’ Screen Shot 2016-01-06 at 17.40.47Police with the Dogs Trust on Wednesday 14th January in Fulham’s Westfield Park, SW10. At the same time we can have our dog’s nails trimmed free, get advice on a free dog-neutering service and our dear hairy companions can try out a dog-agility course.

According to Defra lost and stray dogs cost the taxpayer and welfare charities £33 million a year. Hopefully the chipping will make it easier to reunite lost pets with their owners.

Before the new law comes into effect the Parks Police is organising a number of sessions where owners can get their dogs microchipped free of charge. For information on these sessions email [email protected] By the way, if your doggie is unchipped by April you could be fined a whopping £500.
