Forget me Not at The Bush

Book now for Forget me Not by Tom Holloway – I already feel a bit teary just reading about this. It is a play that opens at The Bush Theatre December 8th – January 16th and looks at the story of an Australian man making the journey back to England to find his mother and just to make it more sentimental it is Christmas. I didn’t know this but through a programme created by the British Government and supported by Australia while in the throes of its ‘White Australia’ policy, between 1945 and 1968 over three thousand British children were told they were orphans and sent to Australia on a promise of warmth, fresh air, abundant food and opportunity. Instead they arrived to deprived institutions where neglect and abuse were the norm. Seriously I am welling up. bushtheatre
