Four great places for Sunday lunch

Sunday lunch is a tricky one in Notting Hill because many restaurants seem to close. Here are a five that will be open and good, most expensive first:

  • E&O on Kensington Park Road. Always delicious, make sure you book ahead though there are usually some spaces hidden away. Chilli salt squid is a favourite. rickerrestaurants
  • Essenza also on Kensington Park Road is great for Italian food, nothing like a starched white tablecloth and some delicious pasta. Usually full so also worth booked ahead of time. Great atmosphere, great food, very local. essenza
  • On a sunny day head for The Dock Kitchen (pic above) at the north end of Ladbroke Grove. There is a wonderful outdoor terrace and the food is crazily good. Make sure to order the flat bread. dockkitchen
  • Eggbreak is a new all day cafe which is handy. Full of happy young people but you may have to queue as it is really popular. Simple menu. Tucked behind the Coronet on Notting Hill Gate. eggbreak
