EcoHelmet – at last

We have a great many cyclists in our neighbourhood and so I wanted to whizz this by you: A paper folding bike helmet. It has just won the James Dyson design award. Isis Shiffer, the designer, used the facilities at the Royal College of Art and the crash lab at Imperial College to help her come up with the winning design – so almost homegrown. Selling these helmets at bike stations is the plan for around £4 and they will stay waterproof for up to three hours thanks to a special biodegradable coating. BTW the paper is recycled and it is stretchy, so one size fits any bonce. Genius. Ecohelmet
