Down’s Syndrome Awareness week buy a ribbon

With Down’s Syndrome Awareness Week (Monday 16th March – Sunday 22nd) fast approaching, local efforts are ramping up and community spirit is kicking in. Schools, nurseries, shops and kind people of all ages are doing their bit to raise money for an incredible London-based Speech and Language charity called DEx (Downright Excellent). DEx runs weekly sessions for children with Down’s Syndrome, helping with language, reading, and life skills. Their parents are also given wonderful support and encouraged to aim high for their children, making a powerful difference to families’ lives.
To raise money for DEx, people are selling awareness ribbons, children are raiding piggybanks, and schools are collecting donations by having an Odd Socks Day – plus there are collecting tins at St Helen’s Cafe and the bakery on St Helen’s Gardens. Please support this life-changing charity which desperately needs funds to help keep going. Perhaps the easiest way of all is simply to donate via their Givey page:
