Local charity Nova New Opportunities, which for 30 years has helped marginalised people into employment, is holding a charity quiz night to raise badly needed funds on Thursday 10th November from 6.30-8.30pm at St Peter’s Church in Kensington Park Road (opposite Stanley Gardens). There will be food, wine, an uplifting gospel choir and plenty of opportunities to snap up some amazing Christmas gifts.
Nova New Opportunities is based off the Portobello Road under Westway. It has for the past 30 years been doing wonderful work helping local people living on the margins of society to improve their lives and those of their families by developing their skills, confidence and employment potential. It and also serves as a well-loved community hub for local people.
Despite the wealth of the Borough as a whole, the North Kensington wards are among the most deprived in the country and Nova’s services are desperately needed. It already helps some 1,400 people a year and with cuts in Government funding there is increasing demand for its services which it cannot currently afford to meet. It receives grants from the Council and other bodies, but there is a problematic shortfall that can only be met through donations and fundraising events.
Please help Nova. Come to the quiz as an individual and watch the fun, or come as an individual and join a team or come along with five friends as a ready-made team. This is such a worthy cause. For tickets to the Big Fat Nova Quiz night or to make a donation, please click on novanew
