Boom baby talk by local author

Screen Shot 2014-06-20 at 06.24.30Local author Brian Nevill has written a memoir of 60s and 70s counter culture in London. Days of new music, dancing, breaking free, trying out new drugs, protesting against Vietnam and wearing fabulous clothes.  Nevill is going to give a talk about what it was like to live through the time of change in women’s rights, race relations, psychoactive drugs, the Beatles and Janis Joplin. There will be a hotchpotch of colourful stories from Nevill who describes himself as one of the “faceless faces of the baby boom years.” He will describe his life then as a teenager and then as a young man fleeing a humdrum suburban life. Nevill is not only an author, he is a busy ‘musician, record collector and creative loafer’ too, as well as having lived on Lancaster Road for over 40 years. Sounds like an interesting, lively and very funny evening.  Tuesday 1 July, 6.30pm – 8.30pm North Kensington Library. Free but you need to book here rbkc.gov
