Birds of a feather

Now the tawny owl tree has been lopped in Kensington Gardens none of the local birders seems to know where they have moved to, though there are three trees with Little Owls in them, one near the Prince Albert memorial. If you are interested in such delightful creatures there is an amazing blog by Ralph Hancock who keeps a keen eye on all things natural in the park. He says the tiny Moorhen chicks (pic above) on the Italian Garden pond “can run over the surface of the algae, but when they stop they start to sink in”.
