Big plans for Round Pond

Screen Shot 2014-02-05 at 16.11.47It’s all change in Kensington Gardens as fences and diggers shoo the ducks off Round Pond to make way for a deeper more shapely watery centrepiece outside Kensington Palace. The Round Pond project aims to recreate the Charles Bridgeman Plan of 1734 which showed the pond raised up with formal crisp edging so it could be easily seen from Kensington Palace. The shape will be more elaborate than the pond we have come to know and love, not sure how that will affect the sailing boats or the swans. www.royalparks.org.uk It should all be ready by the end of April.
