Greek quartet opening at the Gate

Opening at the Gate Theatre tomorrow, 23rd April, is The Iphigenia Quartet, billed as, “one tragedy, two parts and four plays”. Each of the two parts lasts 80 minutes and the drama has been split between four playwrights; Caroline Bird, Suhayla El-Bushra, Lulu Raczka and Chris Thorpe. Watch as Agamemnon is told by the Gods to kill his daughter Iphigenia. If he commits the crime he will also lose his wife Clytemnestra. Each writer interprets the action from a different character’s perspective. Gripping stuff and part of a season about the family called Nuclear. Onto 21st May and tickets are from £10. gatetheatre
