Reggae, calypso and steel bands

Screen Shot 2014-08-22 at 10.30.21There will be some great music at this year’s carnival. Scratchylus, Best Reggae Nominee (pic) is just back from a sell-out tour of Jamaica and The Gambia and will be performing his hit single Reset the Mindset, you can hear it here … on the the World Music stage.

Also, dance radio station Rinse FM is playing at carnival for the first time this year with Katy B doing some DJing and also R&B star Tinashe and Ms Dynamite. Rinse FM will be on the corner of Hazlewood Crescent and Bosworth Road W10. And don’t forget Gaz’s Roakin Blues past the Tabernacle on Talbot Road.

Best of all look out for the great steel pan band processions. Historically steel bands, soca and calypso music have been at the heart of carnival and they are amazing.
